This material integrates three functions: cooling, cleaning, and material protection. Its cooling mechanism can be summarized in six characters: “does not absorb heat, dissipates more heat.” Through careful design, the material achieves dual performance limits—solar reflectance ≥ 98.6% and infrared emissivity in the atmospheric window band ≥ 99%—enabling passive cooling without any energy consumption. This can reduce exterior wall temperatures by more than 25°C and, depending on the application, cut air-conditioning energy use by 15% to 60%.
In addition to its cooling benefits, it also boasts self‑cleaning and anti‑soiling properties. The material mimics the microstructure of a lotus leaf, making it difficult for water and oil-based contaminants to adhere; as rainwater runs off, it carries away dust, achieving “self‑cleaning” and significantly reducing façade maintenance costs.
At present, this material has been deployed across sectors including civil construction, grain and oil storage, petrochemicals, and power equipment, with a total application area exceeding 1 million square meters.
