Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban–Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has gradually brought six major product categories—building doors and windows, ready-mixed concrete, stone materials, and others—covering a total of 72 types, under the scope of green building material certification.

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban–Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has progressively incorporated six major product categories—building doors and windows, ready-mixed concrete, stone materials, and others—comprising 72 specific products, into the scope of green building‑material certification. This initiative implements full‑life‑cycle quality management, covering everything from raw material extraction and production to use, distribution, and end‑of‑life recycling, thereby strengthening the quality and safety safeguards at the source and enhancing the green and low‑carbon attributes of these products. As of the end of June 2026, the number of enterprises holding green building‑material certifications nationwide has reached 5,725, with 11,094 valid certificates issued, driving nearly RMB 130 billion in national revenue from green building materials—an increase of more than 10% year over year. By the end of 2026, the total revenue from green building materials is expected to exceed RMB 300 billion, reflecting steady improvements in both the quality and efficiency of the industry’s development.

In terms of promoting the application of certification results, the State Administration for Market Regulation, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and other departments, has vigorously advanced the implementation of the “Government Procurement Policy to Support Green Building Materials and Enhance Building Quality,” encouraging the prioritized use of certified green building materials throughout the entire lifecycle of government‑procured construction projects—design, tendering, construction, and settlement. To date, this policy has been rolled out across 101 cities nationwide, with 1,080 government procurement projects successfully implemented, totaling RMB 380 billion in green building material purchases, thereby significantly boosting the “green content” of urban development and the overall quality of buildings.

Meanwhile, green building materials certification services continue to expand to the grassroots level, closely integrated with the special campaign to bring green building materials to rural areas. These services are widely applied in key rural development projects such as self-built rural homes, rural roads, sewage networks, and improvements to living environments, effectively boosting green consumption in rural areas by more than RMB 20 billion. According to estimates, certified green building materials can reduce carbon emissions by over 30 million tons annually, providing solid support for building beautiful countryside and achieving all-round rural revitalization.
